We’re hiring a Nightshift Team Leader to manage and support our on-site workforce at a leading logistics contract in Biggleswade. This is a six-month fixed-term contract with real potential to go permanent either directly on the account or within our team. You’ll play a critical role in the smooth running of the night operation, from staff check-ins and inductions to worker support and workforce planning.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct candidate check-ins, introductions and nightshift inductions
- Act as the on-site point of contact for the night workforce, ensuring everything runs to plan
- Support onboarding and ensure all Right to Work and ID documentation is verified
- Liaise with warehouse supervisors to plan headcount and manage nightshift requirements
- Handle any on-the-night absence issues, late arrivals, or urgent adjustments
- Ensure Time & Attendance is logged accurately and flag any discrepancies
- Provide support to workers on-site including basic queries and concerns
- Maintain accurate admin, ensuring compliance records and booking data are up to date
- Deliver high standards of worker engagement and build positive relationships across shifts
- Report nightly activity and flag key operational updates to the daytime team
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a warehousing or logistics environment (essential)
- Experience in onsite recruitment, workforce coordination, or team leader role (preferred)
- Strong communicator with the confidence to handle queries and lead from the front
- Excellent organisational skills with a calm, proactive approach
- IT literate and able to update systems and documentation accurately
- Comfortable working independently on nights and using initiative to resolve issues
- Able to build rapport quickly with both agency workers and client teams
