Job Responsibilities
- Disassemble, refurbish, and reassemble mechanical and electro‑mechanical equipment to engineering drawings and specifications
- Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and components
- Build, align, and test machines as part of workshop projects, ensuring the highest quality standards
- Support the full life cycle of machinery refurbishment from inspection to commissioning
- Perform mechanical testing, fault‑finding, and pre‑delivery verification
- Maintain an organised, safe, and efficient workspace at all times
Skills and Experience
- Time‑served Mechanical Fitter or completed an engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Confident using hand tools, precision measuring equipment, and lifting gear
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a small, skilled engineering team
Pay and Benefits
- Pay Rate: ÂŁ19.97 per hour
- Contract: Long‑term temporary (6‑8 months) with genuine opportunity to go permanent
- Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am-4:00pm, Friday 7:30am-12:30pm
- Benefits: Overtime available
