We have an exciting opportunity to join our established Real Estate Team in Chelmsford.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations & Client Relationship Manager – Casualty, you will be responsible for the desktop handling of UK and European Real Estate Casualty claims, primarily Public Liability injury and third-party property damage claims. This is a key technical and client-facing role within a collaborative, specialist team.
Key Responsibilities
- Desktop technical handling of UK and European Real Estate Casualty claims on a cradle-to-grave basis
- Acting as a technical referral point when required
- Managing a portfolio of client accounts, including participation in client meetings, presentations, and technical training
- Proactively progressing claims via email, telephone, video calls, and written correspondence
- Controlling the full lifecycle of claims, including diary management and proactive file handling
- Liaising with insureds, insurers, brokers, adjusters, and other stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service
- Working closely with UK and European Casualty Adjusters and Account Management teams
- Accurate time recording, billing, and invoicing in line with internal systems and standards
- Producing MI, data capture, and performance reports for both clients and internal use
- Ensuring compliance with all technical, operational, data protection, and information security policies
About You – Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience handling Casualty claims on a full handling basis
- Strong Public Liability experience is essential, including both injury and third-party property damage
- Proven experience handling UK claims, with confidence using relevant protocols such as the Low Value Claims Portal
- Experience of Real Estate and/or European claims is beneficial but not essential
- Comfortable undertaking desktop investigations, establishing coverage, liability, and reserves on both delegated and non-delegated claims
- Able to manage a significant caseload while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Confident producing formal reports and technical advice for clients
- Experience managing client accounts or schemes
- Self-motivated, technically curious, and keen to continue developing professionally
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a wider UK and European team
- Driven and able to meet SLA, chargeable hours, and fee income targets
Desirable
- Ability to speak additional European languages (Spanish, French, German, or Italian)
- Holding or working towards a professional claims qualification
