Oncology Pharmacist
Location: Manchester
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience (with enhancements for late, weekend, or on-call shifts where applicable)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Specialist Clinical Pharmacist with a focus in acute care and oncology to join a forward-thinking and supportive pharmacy team in Manchester.
This role offers the chance to work in a highly specialised environment delivering outstanding care to patients across both inpatient and outpatient oncology services, as well as supporting a broader range of acute care pathways. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines in a setting where collaboration and clinical leadership are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services within acute and oncology areas

Provide specialist pharmaceutical input as part of a multidisciplinary team

Ensure safe and effective medicines use, in line with local and national guidance

Support the implementation and optimisation of medicines management processes

Contribute to education and training for pharmacy, nursing, and medical staff

Participate in audit, service development, and clinical governance activities
Requirements

Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Recognised degree in Pharmacy (MPharm, BPharm, or equivalent)

Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification (or working towards one)

Experience in hospital pharmacy essential

Experience in oncology and/or acute/general medicine highly desirable

Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
