A specialist defence engineering manufacturer is looking to recruit an NDT Technician on an initial six-month rolling contract. The role involves carrying out non-destructive testing on welded and fabricated components within a regulated manufacturing environment. Applicants must hold current PCN Level 2 certification and be qualified to conduct visual, magnetic particle and penetrant testing.
The role:
- Carrying out visual testing, magnetic particle testing and penetrant testing
- Inspecting welded and fabricated components against drawings, specifications and acceptance criteria
- Producing clear and accurate inspection reports
- Identifying, recording and reporting defects or non-conformances
- Ensuring testing equipment remains suitable, calibrated and correctly maintained
- Working closely with welding, fabrication, quality and production teams
- Maintaining material and inspection traceability
- Following approved NDT procedures and written instructions
- Working in accordance with quality, health and safety requirements
What you’ll need:
- Current PCN Level 2 qualifications
- Certification and practical experience in VT, MT and PT
- Previous NDT experience within manufacturing, fabrication or engineering
- Experience inspecting welded components and fabricated assemblies
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Good understanding of inspection reporting and traceability requirements
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Ability to work independently within the limits of approved procedures
- Experience within defence, aerospace, rail, nuclear or another regulated engineering environment would be beneficial.
