We are recruiting a number of experienced Fabricator / Welder to support a leading, world-class defence engineering organisation delivering long-term, strategically critical programmes for the UK. About the Role
You will work within a modern, high-specification manufacturing facility as part of a skilled production team responsible for assembling and fabricating complex, safety-critical components. The work supports a major defence programme with long-term security, structured processes and exceptional engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety Compliance – Maintain strict adherence to defence-grade safety procedures and hazard controls.
- Fabrication & Fitting – Fabricate and fit aluminium components using jigs, fixtures and approved engineering procedures.
- Quality Assurance – Work from detailed drawings and carry out visual/NDT checks to ensure components meet exacting defence specifications.
- Tooling & Measurement – Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Welder Approvals – Maintain European welder qualification tests as required.
- Fault Reporting – Report equipment issues through approved maintenance channels.
- MRP Booking – Record hours and activities accurately using SAP.
What We’re Looking For
- Recognised Time-Served Apprenticeship
- Aluminium MIG welding experience essential
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong background in heavy manufacturing or fabrication fitting
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to defence-level quality standards
- A disciplined, safety-focused approach suitable for a high-integrity environment
