A globally recognised defence manufacturer in Stockport is looking for a Fabricator to join its Northwest Engineering Centre of Excellence. You will be working as part of a dedicated team manufacturing equipment for long-term MOD programmes, using jigs and fixtures to produce aluminium components to engineering drawings and work instructions in a state-of-the-art facility.
What you'll be doing:
- Fabricating aluminium components using jigs and fixtures in line with fabrication procedures and engineering drawings
- Using hand tools and appropriate measuring instruments throughout
- Identifying health and safety hazards prior to commencing work and complying with EHS policies throughout
- Reporting equipment faults or unusual occurrences through approved maintenance procedures
- Booking hours and activities accurately on SAP
What you need:
- NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline or equivalent
- Practical fitting or fabrication experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
- Comfortable using hand tools and measuring equipment
- Awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices
