A leading engineering organisation is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team, working as part of a wider UK and global engineering function. The role is primarily hands–on technical work with an element of mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers, and requires a strong grounding in mechanical engineering principles combined with excellent project oversight and communication skills.
What you'll be doing:
- Overseeing and delivering mechanical engineering projects from concept through to completion
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring successful delivery to time and quality targets
- Providing technical guidance and acting as an escalation point for engineering queries
- Supporting estimating, bidding, and early project consultation
- Conducting quality checks and driving continuous improvement across projects
- Mentoring and supporting junior and mid–level engineers, sharing knowledge and best practice
- Supporting resource planning and scheduling within the engineering team
- Contributing to training, skills development, and team growth
- Representing the engineering function in project and leadership forums as required
What you need:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline
