An established and respected name in the CNC machine tool sector is seeking a skilled PDI Engineer to join their workshop-based team in Coventry. This role would suit an experienced Field Service Engineer who no longer wants to travel, but still wants to work hands-on with high-spec CNC machinery.

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm; Friday, 8:30am–3:00pm
The Role
Working within a modern technology centre, you’ll be part of a team responsible for pre-delivery inspection, installation and integration work across a range of CNC machine tools. This includes mechanical and electrical interfacing for rotary tables, automation systems, and other equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections to agreed specifications
- Installation and mechanical/electrical interfacing of machines on-site
- Preparing machines for automation and 4th/5th axis integration
- Creating SOPs and contributing to internal knowledge bases
- Supporting colleagues both onsite and remotely via phone/email
- Collaborating across departments to resolve technical issues and ensure quality
- Keeping the workshop and machines clean and organised post-inspection
Essential Experience & Skills:
- HNC in Engineering and/or completed a Modern Apprenticeship (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of CNC machine tools
- Able to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
- Experience fault-finding across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Familiar with Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain controls
- Confident using standard IT systems (PC, email, mobile)
- Lives within a commutable distance of Coventry
Desirable Experience:
- Working knowledge of all three major CNC control systems (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain)
- PLC integration and modification experience
- Broader system integration knowledge
