A long-established engineering organisation with a strong reputation for innovation and manufacturing excellence is seeking a skilled Applications Engineer to support both pre-sales and post-sales technical activities. The company is a recognised leader in high-speed CNC machining, automation systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies, supplying customers across the UK.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at a modern UK facility, with regular nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays. You will play a key role in delivering customer training, supporting engineering projects, and providing technical applications support to maximise machine performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Commission and set up CNC machines for production
- Deliver comprehensive customer training on machine operation and programming
- Apply production engineering expertise to develop efficient machining processes
- Provide technical support and problem-solving for customer applications
- Select cutting tools and optimise tooling strategies
- Develop fixturing, work-holding and process improvements
- Identify opportunities for product and process enhancement
About You
You will have a strong engineering background in CNC machine tools, gained through experience with a machine tool manufacturer, distributor, or in a CNC programming/operation role.
Technical Competencies
- Skilled in operating and programming 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Proficient with FANUC controls (operation and programming)
- CAD/CAM experience
- Strong understanding of production engineering principles
- Time-served engineer preferred
- Competent in interpreting engineering drawings
