A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Heavy Aluminium Fabricator to join a well-established engineering business, working on long-term MOD projects.

This role is suited to fabricators from a heavy engineering, aerospace, marine, rail, defence or structural fabrication background.

(This is not a window/door fabrication role.)

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication and fitting of structural aluminium components in line with detailed engineering drawings

Working with jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and precision inspection equipment

Ensuring all work meets stringent quality and safety standards required for MOD projects

Booking hours and maintaining accurate records in internal systems

Consistently maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and high-quality workmanship
Requirements

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant discipline

Proven experience in aluminium fabrication within a heavy engineering environment (aerospace, defence, rail, marine, etc.)

Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and work instructions

Strong knowledge of production processes and quality systems

Good problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills

Flexible approach with the ability to work occasional night cover when required
Pay & Benefits

Day shift rate: £19.22 per hour

Night shift rate: £25.56 per hour (occasional cover required)

Plenty of overtime available if desired

Permanent role with long-term career prospects
