Our client in Haverhill is looking for an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of advanced electrical control assemblies, including MCCs, junction boxes, and control panels. The work is varied, hands-on, and technically engaging, supporting products used in complex, high-precision engineered systems that enable large-scale, movement-driven experiences and installations.

The wider group operates globally with long-term stability, continuous innovation, and a reputation for delivering engineered solutions that bring ambitious ideas to life. That means a steady pipeline of interesting projects, meaningful progression opportunities, and the chance to contribute to work that has real impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Working with Electrical Design Engineers to ensure manufacturability of MCCs, junction boxes, and custom electrical assemblies.
  • Creating and updating manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, BOMs, build standards).
  • Supporting engineering change activity and documentation control.
  • Developing and optimising build processes for electrical assemblies.
  • Establishing standard work for panel assembly, wire routing, labelling, and quality inspections.
  • Specifying tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve efficiency and repeatability.
  • Evaluating new manufacturing technologies and methods.
  • Providing day-to-day technical support to production teams.
  • Troubleshooting wiring issues, layout conflicts, and component-fit challenges.
  • Leading root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical standards and internal quality requirements.
  • Developing testing procedures (continuity, hi-pot, functional testing, final inspection).
  • Supporting internal audits.
  • Using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM) to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and remove bottlenecks.
  • Contributing to cost-reduction initiatives and component standardisation.
  • Supporting NPI and collaborating with quality, design, and operations on production readiness.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong electrical engineering knowledge.
  • Understanding of MCC components and industrial electrical hardware.
  • Experience in wiring practices, grounding, cable management, and enclosure layout optimisation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts.
  • Experience with panel building, junction box wiring, or similar work.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing workflows, documentation, and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with UL508A and UKCA/CE standards.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach.
  • Confident communication across shop-floor and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
