EDM Applications Engineer – Machine Tool Manufacturer (UK Agent) UK & European travel A well-established UK agent for a leading machine tool manufacturer is seeking to recruit an EDM Applications Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. The company delivers advanced machining solutions, including a broad range of EDM systems – both standalone machines and fully integrated, automated turnkey cells. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Delivering structured customer training on EDM machines (operation, programming, maintenance) Supporting pre-sales activity with cycle time estimates, test cuts, and turnkey proposals Executing turnkey engineering projects: ISO/CAM programming, prove-outs, first-off inspections, and completion to agreed acceptance criteria Candidate profile: Minimum 4 years experience in an EDM-focused production or applications environment Strong understanding of ISO NC programming Practical experience with Wire EDM, Sink EDM and/or Fast Hole Drilling (flexibility depending on depth of experience) Familiarity with CAM software for program generation and simulation Capable of developing machining strategies and advising on fixturing Self-motivated and organised, with strong communication skills and customer-facing confidence Package on offer: £35,000 – £45,000 salary (depending on experience) Company car, plus paid travel time and overtime potential Mobile phone and laptop provided 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and a discretionary Christmas shutdown Health care (after probation) Life assurance (after probation) Pension scheme – auto-enrolment after 3 months (2.5% employee, 5.5% employer contribution) This is a technically varied and rewarding role for an experienced EDM engineer looking to step into a customer-facing position with a business at the forefront of machine tool technology.
