A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is looking for a Work Transfer Engineer to join its Sourcing team. The primary focus of this role is managing the safe and compliant transfer of products between suppliers, protecting business continuity across complex supply chains. You'll be working at pace, interpreting mechanical engineering drawings quickly, and coordinating cross-functional teams to keep transfers on track. The role also carries a compliance oversight element, ensuring third-party suppliers meet required information security, data protection, and regulatory standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and managing end-to-end work transfer plans, logs, and associated processes
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams across quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering
  • Managing individual work transfer planners from initiation through to completion
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, routings, tooling, fixtures, and CNC programmes as part of the transfer process
  • Conducting on-site supplier visits, process reviews, and capability studies
  • Ensuring FAIRs, capability studies, and PPAP activities are executed at the relevant locations
  • Working with Supplier Quality Engineering to ensure supplier qualification
  • Logging and reviewing risks through PIR and QIR inputs, with regular reporting to leadership and stakeholders
  • Capturing lessons learned following each transfer
  • Mapping compliance obligations across the supply chain by supplier and product
  • Classifying suppliers based on risk level and evaluating controls against frameworks including ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and NIST
  • Supporting regulatory compliance management including REACH, ITAR, FAR, and DFAR
  • Issuing compliance reports, identifying gaps, and escalating high-risk findings to leadership

What you need:

  • HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical training
  • Aerospace, defence, or automotive background (essential)
  • Ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings quickly and confidently
  • QA audit and/or QA engineering experience in aerospace, defence, or automotive
  • Understanding of AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management Systems and AS9120 First Article processes
  • Experience working across complex supply chains
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP ERP systems
  • Structured, methodical approach with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities to tight deadlines
  • Cyber Essentials or broader cyber security experience desirable
  • Security clearance will be required
  • Willingness to travel - both UK and international site visits are a regular part of the role
