A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is looking to add an Aerospace Finishing Operative to its expanding surface finishing department. This role would suit someone with hands-on experience in anodising, rumbling / vibratory finishing, or precision masking. You’ll start in the area you already know and receive structured cross-training into the other finishing processes over time. The work involves small, detailed metallic components and is well suited to someone from a manufacturing or engineering background who values accuracy, consistency and long-term progression in a stable environment.
The role:
- You’ll initially work in your strongest skill area, with further training provided as you develop into a multi-skilled finisher. Depending on your background, duties may include:
- If you join with anodising experience:
- Operating manual or automated anodising lines
- Jigging, masking and plugging components prior to processing
- Inspecting finished surfaces to aerospace quality standards
- Working with process chemicals to defined specifications
- Operating vibratory finishing and barrel tumbling equipment
- Preparing surfaces ahead of anodising or passivation
- Masking critical features such as bores, slots and edges
- Deburring and finishing components to tight tolerances
- Applying tapes, plugs and bungs to intricate components
- Unmasking parts and carrying out basic visual checks
- Working with small, detailed parts requiring good dexterity
What you’ll need:
- Manufacturing or engineering background (essential)
- Competence in at least one of anodising, rumbling, or precision masking
- Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity
- Understanding of health & safety and COSHH requirements
- Ability to work double day shifts
- Experience with process chemicals or metal finishing techniques is useful, but not essential if you have a solid manufacturing foundation.
What’s on offer:
- £35,500 basic salary
- 22.5% afternoon shift allowance, giving c. £39,500
- £3,000 signing bonus paid within the first year
- Double day shifts: Earlies, 06:00-14:00 Mon-Thu, 06:00-12:00 Fri / Afters, 13:45-22:00 Mon-Thu, 11:45-15:00 Fri
