A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Denham is looking for a Mechanical Assembly Operative to join its Final Assembly team. You'll be carrying out precision mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies used in aviation safety systems for fighter jets, working to detailed technical drawings and exacting quality standards.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, technical specifications, and kits of parts
  • Using hand tools, torque equipment, and associated tooling
  • Carrying out self-inspection, stage inspection, and final certification of assembled components
  • Identifying and applying correct part numbers, drawing issues, and surface finishes
  • Recording work in progress and component traceability using shop floor systems
  • Adhering to quality, H&S, FOD, and ESD procedures
  • Supporting 5S and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and tool control

What you need:

  • Experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Confident use of basic hand tools
  • Good manual dexterity with a methodical, accurate approach to work
  • Basic IT skills
  • SAP or similar manufacturing system experience desirable
  • Awareness of FOD and ESD controls desirable

This role is mechanically biased - candidates with a primarily electrical background are unlikely to be suitable.
