Applications Engineer – Mill-Turn Specialist\\n\\nLocation: UK & Ireland (Extensive Travel & Regular Overnight Stays Required)\\n\\nThe Opportunity\\n\\nA leading CNC machine tool company is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer with a strong background in mill-turn machining. This is a customer-facing role requiring extensive travel across the UK and Ireland, including regular overnight stays.\\n\\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical support, training, and turnkey solutions both at customer sites and in-house. From pre-sales activities such as time studies and demonstrations to post-sales support and process optimisation, this role is key to ensuring customers maximise their investment in advanced CNC technology.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nMill-Turn Expertise\\n\\nLead the setup, optimisation, and training of mill-turn CNC machines at customer sites.\\n\\nDevelop and refine machining processes for complex, multi-axis components.\\nCustomer & Dealer Support\\n\\nProvide on-site technical assistance and training across the UK & Ireland.\\n\\nBuild strong working relationships with machine operators, engineers, and dealers.\\nProgramming & Process Development\\n\\nCreate and optimise CNC programs to improve productivity and reduce cycle times.\\n\\nSupport turnkey projects with detailed time studies and manufacturing solutions.\\nMachine Demonstrations & Sales Support\\n\\nAssist the sales team by showcasing machine capabilities during live demonstrations.\\n\\nProvide accurate cycle time estimates to help inform purchasing decisions.\\nInstallations & Technical Support\\n\\nOversee machine installations and ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.\\n\\nDeliver ongoing remote and on-site technical support.\\n\\nTraining & Events\\n\\nStay current on the latest models and developments.\\n\\nDeliver internal and external training and support exhibitions, trade shows, and dealer events.\\n\\nSkills & Experience Required\\n\\nPrior experience in an Applications Engineering or CNC programming role, ideally involving mill-turn machinery.\\n\\nStrong knowledge of metal cutting, tooling, and modern machining methods.\\n\\nCapable of working independently, managing a mobile role with frequent travel and overnight stays.\\n\\nConfident communicator, able to represent the company professionally in customer-facing situations.\\n\\nDevelopment & Expectations\\n\\nFull product training will be provided, with an expectation of becoming self-sufficient within 6–12 months.\\n\\nRegular reviews and development support will be provided.\\n\\nHigh standards of technical ability and professionalism must be maintained at all times.\\n\\nThis is a great opportunity for an experienced CNC applications specialist who enjoys travel and is ready to step into a role focused on advanced mill-turn technology.\\n\\nBy applying for this position, you consent to Recruit Engineering processing and storing your personal data, including your CV, contact details, and any other relevant information, for the purpose of providing work-finding services.
