Location: Denham

Salary: Β£29,000 – Β£30,000 per year

Hours: 37 per week (Mon–Thurs 08:00–17:00, Fri 08:00–12:00)

We are looking for an Assembly Operative to join a busy manufacturing team in Denham. This role involves assembling, fitting, and inspecting a wide variety of components ranging from larger structures to smaller precision parts, cables, and high-pressure assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble, fit, and inspect a range of components and sub-assemblies to the required standards.

Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and build plans accurately.

Carry out processes in line with departmental procedures, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.

Conduct self-inspection and quality checks in accordance with standards.

Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives, including 5S activities.

Maintain and monitor tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and fit for purpose.

Handle materials and components carefully to prevent damage or safety risks.

Report unsafe practices or faulty equipment promptly.

Undertake training and adopt new methods as required.

Contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
Assembly tasks may include:

Bench fitting and detailed build of assemblies.

Installation of inserts, locking pins, adhesives, and threaded components.

Jig drilling, taper reaming, thread locking, crimping, and riveting (manual and mechanical).

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Knowledge of health & safety policies and COSHH regulations.

Familiar with hand tools, measuring equipment, and drilling/riveting techniques.

Basic IT skills; SAP experience beneficial.

Apprenticeship in mechanical engineering desirable but not essential.

Personal Attributes

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.

Reliable with good concentration and focus.
