If you enjoy driving vans and don’t mind helping in the warehouse when needed, this could be just the job for you. We are looking for an additional person to join a small delivery and warehouse team within one of West Cumbria’s longest established businesses. They sell and deliver everything from carpets, beds and wardrobes to sofas, chairs and cocktail cabinets. Being honest, it’s not the easiest job in the world! Furniture can be heavy and awkward to move around, but if you are strong and fit it shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you and your Drivers Mate.

Your job will involve:

  • Driving a luton style van.
  • Loading and unloading.
  • Planning delivery routes.
  • Delivering furniture to customers.
  • Basic assembly of furniture.
  • Keeping customer paperwork up to date.
  • Customer service.
  • Assisting in the warehouse.

You will be working 5 days per week, and this will include Saturdays. With 2 days off per week, you will be working 37 hours per week and start times will usually be 8am to 9am.

Requirements

Ideally, you will have worked as a Van Driver before and will have experience in a warehouse.

The ideal person for this job:

  • A clean driving licence and experience of driving a large van.
  • Polite and helpful.
  • Can complete basic paperwork.
  • Ability to load and deliver heavy items (with assistance of Drivers Mate).
  • Able to work full-time (including Saturdays).
  • Knows their way around West Cumbria.
  • Can have a good crack with customers.
