We are looking for a Chef to assist the Head Chef of a busy and popular Whitehaven town centre cafe with the running of the kitchen. It will be working 37.5 hours per week, over 5 days per week. You won’t need to work Sundays either (except in December when they do Christmas lunches). We will also consider part-time candidates for this position.
Your job will be to prepare and cook food which looks as good as it tastes whilst ensuring that all food safety and health and safety exceeds expectations. You will also cover for the Head Chef on his days off and, on other days, assist him with the running of the kitchen.
If you have at least 2 years experience of working in a busy kitchen, or a cookery qualification (such as NVQ levels 1,2 in professional cookery) then we would love you to apply.
Requirements:- At least 2 years experience, as a Chef, in a busy kitchen.
- Someone who is calm when things get busy.
- A Chef de Partie or Commis who is ready to step up.
- Great people and teamwork skills.
- Passionate about food and how it is presented.
- Knows and practices food safety rules.
Starting wage of £13.50 per hour. Statutory pension scheme. Full or part time hours (will include Saturdays). 28 days’ holiday per year (pro rata if part time). Monthly pay. Immediate start available for the right person.
