A hands-on role at the heart of a much-loved community café beneath Blencathra. Our client is a community interest business, serving locals, walkers, cyclists and visitors from across the UK and beyond. They are known for their warm hospitality, quality food and home baking. They are looking for an enthusiastic Baker & Kitchen Assistant to join their friendly team.
About the Role
- Bake a daily range of scones and tray bakes to a consistently high standard.
- Prepare fresh sandwiches, wraps and cold food items for daily service.
- Keep the kitchen and bakery areas clean, tidy and running smoothly.
- Follow all food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
- Support the wider cafe team as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen, café, bakery or similar environment.
- Proven baking skills and practical food preparation experience.
- A good understanding of food hygiene requirements.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work weekends and peak seasonal periods.
Hourly pay of £13.00–£14.10 depending on experience. 28 days annual leave pro rata. Part-time and full-time hours considered. Weekend and seasonal working required.
