Full-time, 40 hours per week, permanent Room Leader position based in Wembley, Greater London, HA9. Nursery opening hours are 7:30am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Full-time nursery operating 51 weeks per year. Nursery closes for bank holidays and one week at Christmas. Weekly non-contact time provided for observations and framework updates.
Job Description:
As a Room Leader (Toddlers), you will support and lead practice within a Montessori nursery and EYFS childcare setting in Wembley, HA9. This opportunity suits an experienced Room Leader, Toddler Room Leader, Early Years Room Leader, Lead Practitioner, Senior Nursery Practitioner, or Level 3 Early Years Educator looking to progress within a supportive childcare environment. The nursery provides a secure, inspiring, and nurturing learning environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. You will support high-quality early years practice, oversee the daily running of the toddler room, promote Montessori-inspired learning, and help children develop through positive routines, child-led activities, and thoughtful care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support daily practice within the toddler room
- Promote high-quality EYFS provision across learning, care, wellbeing, and development
- Support Montessori-inspired learning and child-led development throughout the nursery day
- Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating childcare environment
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and educational development
- Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and nursery leadership
- Contribute to indoor learning, outdoor play, creative activities, and toddler room routines
- Support observations, assessment, planning, and learning framework updates
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional early years standards
Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK required
- Level 3 or relevant Early Years qualification preferred
- Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, Lead Practitioner, or Senior Early Years Practitioner beneficial
- EYFS experience required, with Montessori or toddler room experience advantageous
- Ability to support room leadership, children’s care, learning, wellbeing, observations, and development
- Warm, reliable, caring, organised, and confident communicator
- Can work professionally as part of a nursery team while using initiative and supporting room standards
