We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Residential Home Manager to lead a well-established residential care home in Welshpool, Powys. The service provides 40 residential places and specialises in dementia care. This is a full-time, permanent leadership role suited to an experienced care home manager with a strong background in dementia-focused residential services.
The Role
As Residential Home Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management, leadership, and performance of the service. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred dementia care, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and lead a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, supportive, and well-run care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and overall management of a 40-bed residential dementia care home
- Ensure high standards of person-centred care and positive outcomes for residents
- Maintain full compliance with CIW regulations, policies, and best practice
- Lead, develop, and support the staff team, including recruitment and performance management
- Oversee care planning, safeguarding, audits, and quality assurance processes
- Manage budgets, occupancy, and operational performance
- Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and external stakeholders
Requirements
- NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards)
- Proven experience managing a residential care service of a similar size and client group
- Strong knowledge of dementia care and person-centred practice
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Confident understanding of CIW regulations and compliance requirements
