Working Hours & Shift Pattern: Full-time permanent Speech and Language Therapist role working across multiple school settings throughout South East London. This position follows a schools-based working pattern with flexibility required to travel between educational sites within the region. Structured supervision and ongoing support are provided throughout the role.

Job Description: As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will deliver high-quality therapy support across a variety of school settings throughout South East London, supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), and wider social communication difficulties. This schools-based setting offers a highly supportive and collaborative environment where therapists are encouraged to develop their clinical confidence, communication skills, and multidisciplinary working experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Speech & Language Therapy interventions across multiple educational settings
  • Support children with ASC, SLCN, DLD, and social communication difficulties
  • Complete assessments, therapy planning, and clinical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, SENCOs, families, and wider MDT professionals
  • Provide EHCP-related assessment input and therapy recommendations
  • Adapt therapeutic approaches to suit varied educational environments and communication needs
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional standards
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and collaborative care planning
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and educational teams

Requirements:

  • No sponsorship available for this role. Candidates must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
  • Degree in Speech & Language Therapy with HCPC registration or pending HCPC registration for Newly Qualified candidates.
  • Suitable for Newly Qualified, early-career, and experienced Speech & Language Therapists with educational or SEND exposure.
  • Interest or experience supporting Autism Spectrum Condition, neurodiversity, and communication needs within educational settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment, therapy planning, and caseload management capability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a relationship-led and child-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple school settings while collaborating effectively within MDT environments.
