Working Hours & Shift Pattern:

Full-time permanent position working across Monday to Friday. Shift patterns will vary within nursery operating hours and may include early and later finishes. Flexibility is required to support the needs of the nursery setting and children throughout the day.

Job Description:

As a Room Leader, you will play a key role within a welcoming and child-focused nursery and childcare setting based in Crouch End, N10. This Room Leader role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated room team while creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the daily running of the nursery room to ensure high standards of care and education

  • Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate nursery practitioners within the room team
  • Build positive and professional relationships with parents and carers
  • Monitor observations, assessments, and development records accurately
  • Ensure safeguarding children, health and safety, Ofsted, and compliance standards are consistently maintained
  • Plan engaging age-appropriate activities to support children’s development
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and wider nursery teams
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and strong communication throughout the nursery setting

Requirements:

  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK as no sponsorship is available for this position
  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years is essential
  • Previous experience working within an early years nursery or childcare setting is required
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, Ofsted expectations, safeguarding children, and child development
  • Ability to lead a nursery room confidently while maintaining high standards of care and compliance
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently while supporting and guiding a wider nursery team
