Working Hours & Shift Pattern

Permanent | Full Time | 37.5 hours per week, based in Bromley, Greater London (BR2)

• Wednesday to Friday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• Monday and Tuesday are scheduled days off
• Clinic-based role supporting autistic children and children with additional communication needs
• Regular supervision, mentoring and multidisciplinary support provided

Job Description

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will join a specialist paediatric clinic in Bromley, Greater London (BR2), delivering high-quality Speech and Language Therapy to autistic children and children with speech, language, communication and sensory needs. Working within an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will manage your own paediatric caseload, complete comprehensive assessments using standardised and informal assessment tools, formulate evidence-based therapy programmes and produce high-quality clinical reports and recommendations. You’ll work closely with families, schools and other professionals to provide holistic, child-centred support that helps every child maximise their communication, confidence, independence and overall quality of life. This is an excellent opportunity for an HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist looking to further develop specialist Autism expertise within a supportive private healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality one-to-one Speech and Language Therapy for autistic children and children with speech, language, communication and sensory needs.
• Carry out comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments using standardised and informal assessment tools.
• Develop evidence-based therapy programmes tailored to each child’s individual needs.
• Prepare detailed clinical reports, recommendations and therapy documentation.
• Independently manage a varied paediatric Speech and Language Therapy caseload.
• Work collaboratively with families, schools and the wider multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.
• Support, supervise and develop Speech and Language Therapy Assistants where appropriate.
• Create and maintain therapy resources whilst contributing to service development, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings, clinical supervision and continuing professional development activities.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professional practice and accurate clinical documentation.

Requirements

• Right to work in the UK. Skilled Worker visa sponsorship is available for eligible HCPC-registered candidates.
• Current HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist is essential.
• Minimum of one year’s post-qualification experience at Band 5 level.
• Experience working with autistic children and children with speech, language, communication and sensory needs within paediatric services.
• Confident completing assessments, developing evidence-based therapy programmes and producing high-quality clinical reports.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, report-writing and IT skills with a compassionate, child-centred approach.
• Able to independently manage a paediatric caseload whilst working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and supporting Therapy Assistants.
