The Role
Working closely with the Head of Pre-Construction (Technical), you’ll help move projects from feasibility to site start. This role suits a technically minded “all-rounder” with 5+ years’ experience, ideally from a developer or housebuilder background, with an engineering bias rather than architectural. This is an office based role 5 days per week with the occasional site visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pre-construction activities across multiple developments
- Review technical information: drawings, surveys, site investigations, reports
- Identify design, technical, and delivery risks/opportunities
- Assist with early discussions with statutory bodies
- Support procurement of technical services and consultants
- Prepare technical reports and project documentation
- Monitor technical obligations post-land exchange
- Attend project launch and handover meetings
- Liaise with consultants, regulatory bodies, and internal teams
About You
- 5+ years experience in construction, development or housebuilding
- Experience with developers or main contractors preferred
- Strong understanding of development and pre-construction processes
- Skilled at reviewing technical drawings and reports
- Excellent organisation, time management and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and IT proficiency (Word, Excel)
- Engineering-focused mindset, rather than architectural
