Build Your Career with a Growing Consultancy Recruit Build is working with a successful, privately owned building consultancy that is expanding its Quantity Surveying team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor who wants greater responsibility, exposure to high-profile clients and the support needed to progress towards Senior or Chartered status. You will work alongside an experienced team, reporting directly to an Associate Quantity Surveyor and helping deliver projects across retail, healthcare, residential, commercial and leisure sectors. The consultancy offers genuine flexibility, allowing you to divide your time between home, project sites and the Leeds office.

The Role

You will support the commercial and financial management of projects from initial feasibility through to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing cost plans, estimates and project budgets
  • Monitoring project costs and producing financial reports
  • Supporting procurement and tendering processes
  • Preparing and managing contract documentation
  • Assessing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Working closely with clients, contractors and professional teams
  • Helping ensure projects are delivered successfully, commercially and to a high standard

About You

You should be a motivated and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor who enjoys working with clients and taking ownership of projects. Ideally, you will have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
  • Previous experience within a consultancy, contractor or client-side environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A professional, approachable and client-focused attitude
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
  • An interest in progressing your career and developing towards chartered status

Chartered status is not essential. Full mentoring and professional development support will be available for anyone working towards their APC.
