Recruit Assist are hiring for an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in service‑led, reactive and planned works environments. The ideal candidate will have previously worked within or closely alongside Facilities Management and core trade services, such as drainage, pumps, mechanical/electrical services, fire systems, security or similar field‑based operations.
- SALARY: £55 TO £65K per year + bonus + car allowance
- ANNUAL LEAVE: 30 days including BH
- DURATION: Full-Time and Permanent
- LOCATION: Maidenhead
EXPERIENCE DURATION REQUIRED: 3 TO 5 years as an Operations Manager with field engineers
CANDIDATE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Managing field‑based engineering teams, ideally within FM, utilities, drainage, pumps, or trade services
- Strong understanding of reactive call‑outs, planned maintenance, and breakdown response
- Background coordinating multiple trade disciplines (e.g. drainage, mechanical, electrical, fire, security)
- Job scheduling and resource planning
- SLA / KPI performance
- Out‑of‑hours and escalation management
- Practical, hands‑on leadership style with the ability to challenge
- Exposure to health & safety, compliance, and risk management in operational settings
- Comfortable working at pace in a reactive, time‑critical environment
- Managing a team of 20 to 25 split between engineers and office support
- People management including Performance Reviews
- Manage the Engineers and their work schedule and performances
- Understanding of HS&E, RAMS, SLA, WIP, KPI's
