We are currently seeking a skilled vehicle technician to join our team in Basingstoke. IMI/NVQ City and Guilds or time-served experienced light vehicle certification is required, as is a full UK driving licence and your own tools. You must live within 10 miles of Basingstoke.
This is a Monday - Friday role: 8am - 6pm with a 1-hour lunch break, or Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm and every other Saturday 8.30am - 5.30pm with a 1-hour lunch break. Salary is experience dependent but for the experience we require, the salary will be between £40,000 - £45,000 plus bonus. For this salary range, we are looking for a technician that is experienced in every aspect of being a vehicle technician. Overtime is available on Saturdays at additional pay but is not mandatory.
As a vehicle technician, you will be responsible for conducting vehicle inspections and ensuring that they meet the required safety and environmental standards. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety of vehicles on the road.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles for any defects or issues that may affect their roadworthiness
- Identify and report any faults or potential problems to customers
- Carry out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to all makes and models
Experience:
- Previous experience as a vehicle technician is essential
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for inspections and repairs
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues or defects
- Good communication skills to interact with customers effectively
