Assembly Shift Team Leader sought by a global, £multibillion plastics manufacturer with close to 200 locations worldwide. This role is initially on a Fixed Term Contract for 3 months with scope for extension. 30 hours per week, afternoon shifts: Monday to Thursday 5pm – 11pm, Friday 1pm – 7pm.
The Role: As an Assembly Team Shift Leader, you will join the team responsible for the production of the company’s tambour door range. Your duties will include:
- Supervising employees working on the assembly line, providing clear instructions and constructive feedback where necessary to ensure production timescales are met and quality standards are adhered to.
- Providing detailed instructions and guidance to ensure the shift runs efficiently, monitoring for any potential disruptions and troubleshooting, to ensure they are dealt with promptly.
- Coaching new or less experienced colleagues to ensure they can perform their role and adhere to the agreed processes and procedures.
- Providing insight and suggestions to the Site Manager on how to improve the process to ensure peak productivity and efficiency.
The successful candidate will also have key holding responsibility.
Your Experience as Assembly Shift Team Leader:
- Previous experience in light production and hands-on assembly work.
- Previous experience in fabrication would also be desirable.
- Able to lead with empathy and in an approachable manner.
- The ability to understand and deliver instructions, and further training where necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on one's own initiative and take ownership for production whilst on shift with a basic understanding of production flow with a quality-focused mindset.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations.
- CNC experience is desirable.
- A forklift licence would be an advantage, but not essential.
- A solid understanding of production machinery and proper assembly procedures would be an advantage, but not essential.
- An ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics would be an advantage, but not essential.
Benefits:
- £15.19 per hour (£23,696.40 per annum on 30 hours per week).
- £1,000 per month shift allowance (£12,000 per annum).
