Let’s be direct.
Our client needs a Contracts Manager who can actually deliver.
Someone with fire in their belly.
Someone with the get-up-and-go to take ownership, make decisions and keep projects moving.
Someone who will challenge the status quo when there is a better way of doing things—but who never loses sight of the most important responsibility: delivering successful construction projects.
THE BUSINESS
Our client is a respected and financially secure North West main contractor delivering projects across education, commercial and residential construction.
Its portfolio includes schools, offices, new-build apartments, housing developments, refurbishments and fit-outs, with typical project values between £2 million and £5 million.
The business has a strong regional presence, an established supply chain and a reputation built on quality, reliability and repeat business.
They now want a Contracts Manager who can help take operational delivery to the next level.
THE JOB
You will manage several projects simultaneously, leading site teams and taking responsibility for performance from pre-construction through to final handover.
You will know what is happening on your projects—not just what the latest report says is happening.
You will spot issues early, ask the difficult questions and make sure actions are followed through.
You will support good people, challenge poor performance and create the structure required for teams to succeed.
Your responsibilities will include
- Overseeing projects valued between £2 million and £5 million
- Managing and developing Site Managers and project teams
- Driving construction programmes and key milestones
- Monitoring performance, cost, quality and risk
- Leading client, design-team and subcontractor meetings
- Resolving operational and technical issues
- Challenging underperformance and removing delivery obstacles
- Reviewing and improving existing processes
- Maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality
- Delivering organised, professional and defect-free handovers
- WHO WE NEED
We need an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong main-contracting background and evidence of successfully delivering multiple construction projects.
You must have
- Experience delivering projects of comparable size and complexity
- Strong knowledge of construction operations and programming
- Commercial awareness
- The ability to lead several project teams effectively
- Confidence when dealing with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- The courage to challenge decisions constructively
- High personal standards and complete accountability
- A full UK driving licence
We are not interested in job titles without substance.
We are interested in what you have delivered, how you lead people and what you can bring to the business.
WHAT’S ON OFFER?
- £5,000 annual car allowance
- Permanent position
- Regional North West projects
- Established and stable contractor
- The authority to influence processes and improve performance
If you are a Contracts Manager who leads from the front and takes pride in delivering properly, apply now.
All applications will be treated in complete confidence
