The Role:

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you'll report to the Projects Department Manager and take ownership of project planning, coordination, and delivery — ensuring all bespoke projects are executed efficiently, on time, and to the highest standard. This is an office-based role with occasional travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion
  • Coordinate multi-disciplined design teams (mechanical, electrical, and production)
  • Oversee project strategy, scheduling, budgets, and reporting
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety, and quality expectations
  • Support continuous improvement across manufacturing and engineering processes

About You:

  • HNC / Level 4 or above in Engineering (Degree desirable)
  • PRINCE2, APMP, or other recognised Project Management qualification
  • Experience working on large-scale mechanical, power, or oil & gas projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of fabrication, manufacturing, and workshop machinery
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A second language would be an advantage but not essential
