New Opportunity - Butcher Are you an experienced Butcher looking for a permanent position with a well-established food production business? Do you have previous experience cutting and preparing meat to specification, with a strong focus on quality, yield, and attention to detail? Our client is looking for a Butcher to join their busy production operation in Derby . This is a permanent position working 4:00pm-1:00am , where you will be responsible for preparing and cutting meat to customer specifications, ensuring products meet the required quality standards and are packed and prepared correctly for distribution. Previous butchery experience is essential , with good knowledge of food hygiene advantageous. Full training will be provided on company procedures and processes. As the new Butcher, you will: Cut and prepare meat to the required customer specifications Maintain consistently high standards of butchery and product quality Ensure all meat used is correct for the required job Follow all food safety, hygiene, quality, and legality requirements Ensure red meat and poultry are not handled at the same time to prevent cross-contamination Ensure raw meat and wrapped cooked products are not handled at the same time Monitor the quality of meat received and report any issues to the Production Supervisor Report any equipment defects or problems to the Production Supervisor Follow all company Health & Safety and hygiene procedures Experience cutting and preparing meat to customer or product specifications Good understanding of butchery standards and product quality Strong awareness of food hygiene and cross-contamination Able to work efficiently in a busy production environment Good understanding of Health & Safety within a food production environment Willingness to follow company procedures and quality standards Food hygiene knowledge is advantageous, but full training will be provided on company processes 4:00pm-1:00am shift ~ Opportunity to join an established and growing food production business ~ Stable, long-term employment ~ Training and development opportunities ~ Opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist meat production operation Full-time, permanent position based in Derby Food hygiene experience/knowledge is advantageous Role involves working with raw meat and following strict hygiene and food safety procedures The role requires a strong focus on quality, specification, yield, and product presentation This will enable you to register for job alerts, apply for jobs and for us to help you find your next role.
