New Opportunity - Class 1 HGV Driver
Are you an experienced Class 1 HGV Driver looking your next opportunity?
Our client in Derby is looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver to join their busy transport team. You will be responsible for delivering company products to customers across the UK, ensuring loads are correct, secure and delivered safely and on time.
This is a varied driving role where you will be expected to maintain high standards of vehicle safety, complete all required paperwork and provide a professional service to customers.
The role operates 5 days from 7, Monday to Sunday , with start times varying depending on operational requirements. Your weekly rota and start time will be provided one week in advance, so flexibility is essential.
As the new Class 1 HGV Driver, you will:
Deliver company products safely and efficiently to customers across the UK
Check that the correct products have been loaded before leaving site
Ensure products are secure and correctly maintained throughout the journey
Complete delivery paperwork, returns documentation and other required records accurately
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects to the Transport Management team
Complete all required pre-start and end-of-shift procedures
Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation
Ensure deliveries and returns are completed in line with company procedures
Maintain safe and professional driving standards at all time
Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and Transport Management
Comply with drivers' hours, tachograph and relevant road transport legislation
Support the wider transport operation with additional reasonable duties when required
Main Requirements for This Role
Valid LGV Class 1 / C+E driving licence
Current Driver CPC qualification
Previous Class 1 HGV driving experience
Good geographical knowledge of the UK
Good communication and customer service skills
Strong understanding of vehicle safety and daily vehicle checks
Reliable and professional approach to work
Good attention to detail when checking loads and completing paperwork
Flexible approach to working days and start times
