Are you an experienced Quality Assurance professional looking to build your career within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment? Do you enjoy maintaining high quality standards, carrying out audits, and working closely with production teams to ensure products meet strict food safety requirements? Our client is looking for a confident QA Auditor to join their technical team in Derby.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous Quality Assurance experience who can hit the ground running, supporting the business in maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards while working collaboratively across production and technical departments.

As the new QA Auditor, you will:

  • Carry out pre-start checks across production areas to ensure operations begin safely and efficiently
  • Complete quality assurance inspections throughout the production process, including temperature, specification, weight, traceability, calibration, cleaning, and product quality checks
  • Monitor food safety control points in line with HACCP procedures
  • Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, customer requirements, and internal quality systems
  • Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality or food safety issues
  • Investigate customer complaints, process issues, and product returns, supporting effective corrective actions
  • Assist with maintaining industry certifications, including BRCGS and Red Tractor standards
  • Support customer audits and factory visits, ensuring professional representation of the business
  • Monitor hygiene standards across the site and carry out GMP inspections
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples for external testing
  • Participate in product tasting sessions as part of quality assessment processes
  • Maintain accurate quality records and communicate key findings to the Technical Management team
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance food safety and quality standards

Main Requirements for This Role

  • Previous experience within a Quality Assurance role, ideally within food manufacturing
  • Around 2-3 years' QA experience with the confidence to work independently
  • Good understanding of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to investigate issues and identify practical solutions
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across departments
  • Computer literate with experience completing quality documentation
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Looking to develop a long-term career within the food manufacturing industry

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with BRCGS, Red Tractor, or similar food industry standards
  • Previous experience supporting customer audits and external accreditation visits
  • Knowledge of GMP auditing and food manufacturing processes

About this role

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Derby. Working hours are 1:00pm - 10:00pm, including an unpaid lunch break (9 hours on site).
