Our client, a specialist Part 21 aviation engineering organisation, is seeking an Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to support the design, integration and certification of aircraft modification programmes. This role is focused on the integration of electrical and avionics systems into operational aircraft, supporting STC and modification projects from initial survey through to installation and certification. The successful candidate will work on system-level electrical design and integration rather than PCB, electronics or component-level design. Candidates with experience in aircraft modifications, Part 21 Design Organisations, STC programmes or avionics integration are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and review wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and installation drawings
- Develop electrical interconnect and system integration documentation
- Define and manage interfaces between aircraft electrical, avionics and mission systems
- Support aircraft modification and retrofit programmes
- Conduct aircraft surveys and gather installation data
- Work closely with certification, design and engineering teams
- Identify and resolve electrical integration and interface issues
- Support compliance and certification activities where required
- Travel internationally to customer sites and aircraft locations when necessary
Requirements
- Experience in Electrical Systems Engineering, Electrical Design or Systems Integration
- Strong understanding of system-level electrical architecture
- Experience producing wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Ability to understand and manage interfaces between multiple electrical systems
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Valid Passport and willingness to travel internationally
Desirable Experience
- Aircraft modification or retrofit programmes
- STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) projects
- Part 21 Design Organisation experience
- Avionics integration
- EWIS and aircraft electrical installation design
- Aircraft survey experience
- Certification and compliance activities within aviation
Alternative Sector Experience Considered
Engineers from defence, rail, automotive or other highly regulated engineering environments may be considered where strong electrical systems integration experience can be demonstrated.
