Are you an experienced Screen Printer, with a strong knowledge of print production and working with a range of materials?
Our client in Birmingham, are looking to expand their team with an experience Screen Printer to work across a range of printed products.
In this role you will be responsible for setting up manual and semi-automated screen-printing machines.
Candidates must have good attention to detail, strong manual dexterity and a positive attitude.
As the new Screen Printer, you will
- Set up and operate manual and semi-automatic screen-printing machines for a variety of substrates including metals and plastics.
- Prepare screens, inks and materials, including mixing inks to customer colour specifications.
- Produce high-quality printed products, ensuring accurate registration, colour consistency and adherence to customer drawings and specifications.
- Carry out first-off and in-process quality inspections, identifying and resolving print defects while completing required quality documentation.
- Support and maintain AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards and procedures.
- Meet daily production targets by prioritising workloads, assisting with job changeovers and minimising waste through efficient production practices.
- Clean and maintain screens, printing equipment and work areas, following 5S housekeeping standards.
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations, including PPE requirements, COSHH procedures and hazard reporting.
- Collaborate effectively with Production, Quality and Planning teams, providing support, training and flexibility across departments as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency and productivity.
Requirements for this role
- Previous experience in screen printing or print production, with experience operating semi-automatic screen-printing machines and industrial screen printing environments desirable.
- Experience printing onto a range of metal and plastic substrates, with knowledge of colour matching and quality systems preferred.
- Experience within aerospace or manufacturing environments and an understanding of lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent colour recognition, accuracy and the ability to identify quality issues.
- Ability to read and interpret production paperwork, work instructions and technical specifications.
- Good manual dexterity and the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Positive, reliable and flexible approach, with a willingness to learn and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, performing repetitive manual tasks, handling materials safely, lifting within manual handling guidelines, and working with printing inks, solvents and other production chemicals.
About this role
- Salary starting at £12.71 per hour
- This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site
- You will be working Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm and Friday, 7:30am-11:30am
- Additional hours required as needed to support business demands.
