Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and versatile Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing our production and packaging plant. You will contribute to plant optimisation, ensure production targets are met, and maintain strict quality and cost standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and carry out repairs to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Work with planned maintenance systems to develop and complete routine maintenance tasks.
- Monitor and log all plant data and equipment readings, including industrial refrigeration.
- Communicate effectively with the Engineering team and other staff via shift diaries and email.
- Make essential adjustments and repairs to mechanical, electrical, and automated systems, including PLCs, inverters, pneumatics, hydraulics, steam, and compressed air systems.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the site.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Time‑served, multi‑skilled engineer with electrical/engineering qualifications.
- Experience in the food industry is desirable but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, industrial refrigeration, and automation.
- Methodical, tidy, and safety‑conscious work approach.
- Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
- Flexible, “can‑do” attitude with the ability to work a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoons, or nights), mainly night shifts.
