They are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, supporting equipment design, automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives within a world-class manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development of new manufacturing processes and equipment concepts.
- Supporting the specification, selection and procurement of manufacturing equipment.
- Acting as the technical lead for new equipment proposals and automation projects.
- Developing and maintaining equipment Statements of Requirements (SORs), technical specifications and documentation.
- Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish manufacturing standards and best practices.
- Identifying and managing equipment suppliers, including capability assessments and technical reviews.
- Supporting business quotations through equipment cost analysis and budget preparation.
- Leading CAPEX projects, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Managing equipment installation projects and supplier activities.
- Leading Machine FMEA and PFMEA activities for new equipment and processes.
- Applying APQP, DFMA and lean manufacturing methodologies throughout projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- Experience working within automotive manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience leading manufacturing equipment projects and process improvements.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience leading FMEA activities, including PFMEA and equipment FMEA.
- Understanding of APQP, DFMA and structured product development processes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience managing CAPEX projects and manufacturing budgets.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
