The Role: As a Metrology Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of new projects and maintaining the highest standards in quality assurance. This is a hands-on role requiring strong CMM programming skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work alongside project and quality teams to deliver excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise CMM programmes to meet customer-specific requirements (LK CMM using Cameo software).
- Set up modular CMM fixtures and manage database updates.
- Create SOPs/DVAs for CMM programs and production procedures.
- Perform full ISIR and capability studies with insightful feedback.
- Support PPAP submissions and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Conduct internal calibration for gauges, leak testers, and Keyence IMD systems.
- Manage external calibration of key equipment (CMM, resistance testers, slip blocks).
- Undertake MSA and Gauge R&R studies.
- Programme Keyence IMD systems and create associated SOPs.
- Contribute to new part introductions and ongoing project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Promote and uphold safety, quality, and confidentiality across the site.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a metrology, quality, or precision engineering environment - automotive experience preferred.
- Strong CMM programming skills and working knowledge of relevant software.
- Familiarity with automotive quality standards and tools (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, PPAP, MSA).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- A proactive mindset with the flexibility to adapt to evolving project needs.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
