As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take full ownership of electrical systems, from design interpretation through to installation, testing, and sign-off. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure our automated production lines operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role also involves mentoring apprentices and providing expert technical guidance across projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read, interpret, and implement electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Machine wiring, panel building, and sensor equipment setup
- Power-on, debugging, validation, and testing of electrical systems
- Redlining and revision control of electrical documentation
- Maintain Product Bill of Materials and safety sign-off documentation
- Provide technical escalation support and problem-solving both on-site and at customer locations
- Operate tools and equipment including meggers, drill presses, hydraulic benders, and genie lifts
- Train and mentor Electrical Apprentices as assigned
- Perform office wiring and building maintenance when required
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and company safety protocols
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Recognized City & Guilds Electrical Installation qualification
- Minimum 2 years post-qualification practical experience
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and electrical schematics
- Extensive experience wiring, troubleshooting, and updating automated production lines
- Competent in hand tools including crimpers, soldering irons, and pipe benders
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
Desirable Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in automotive tooling and integration
- Leadership, supervision, and people management experience
- Previous Automotive T1 experience
- Proven ability to train and mentor others

- Collaborative and effective communicator
- Eligible to work in the UK with flexibility to travel in Europe and beyond
- Self-driven, analytical, and adaptable with a “can-do” attitude
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and delivering practical solutions
Work Environment:
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noise in a manufacturing environment
- Full Health and Safety training and PPE provided
- Extended periods away from base location may be required for installations and commissioning
