The Role
As an EHS Advisor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and advancing the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will support both strategic development and day-to-day operational implementation of health, safety, and ergonomic initiatives, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and international standards such as ISO45001 and ISO14001.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of site-wide HSE strategy
- Lead H&S risk management programmes and audits
- Drive behavioural safety and accident reduction initiatives
- Conduct ergonomic risk assessments aligned with occupational health goals
- Maintain and improve ISO45001 and ISO14001 certification standards
- Deliver internal training and lead safety learning programmes
- Track safety and ergonomics data in line with corporate requirements
- Coordinate with external certification bodies and regulatory agencies
- Monitor legislative changes and integrate best practices
- Lead or assist in incident investigations and corrective actions
- Promote a “Safety First” culture across all levels of the organisation
Your Background
Essential:
- Post-secondary education in safety engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Working knowledge of HSE legislation and risk assessment
- NEBOSH & COSHH qualified
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy, particularly with MS Office
Desirable:
- Experience in automotive, engineering, or manufacturing sectors
- ISO45001/ISO14001 lead auditor qualifications
- Familiarity with behavioural safety and lean manufacturing
- CMIOSH membership (or working towards it)
- Trainer qualifications and experience with castings or fabrication processes
