The Role

As an EHS Advisor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and advancing the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will support both strategic development and day-to-day operational implementation of health, safety, and ergonomic initiatives, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and international standards such as ISO45001 and ISO14001.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of site-wide HSE strategy
  • Lead H&S risk management programmes and audits
  • Drive behavioural safety and accident reduction initiatives
  • Conduct ergonomic risk assessments aligned with occupational health goals
  • Maintain and improve ISO45001 and ISO14001 certification standards
  • Deliver internal training and lead safety learning programmes
  • Track safety and ergonomics data in line with corporate requirements
  • Coordinate with external certification bodies and regulatory agencies
  • Monitor legislative changes and integrate best practices
  • Lead or assist in incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Promote a “Safety First” culture across all levels of the organisation

Your Background

Essential:

  • Post-secondary education in safety engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Working knowledge of HSE legislation and risk assessment
  • NEBOSH & COSHH qualified
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literacy, particularly with MS Office

Desirable:

  • Experience in automotive, engineering, or manufacturing sectors
  • ISO45001/ISO14001 lead auditor qualifications
  • Familiarity with behavioural safety and lean manufacturing
  • CMIOSH membership (or working towards it)
  • Trainer qualifications and experience with castings or fabrication processes
