Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday We are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business based in Cambridgeshire. This is an opportunity to work on highly engineered, specialist machinery with a genuine real-world impact, taking products from initial concept through to manufacture, testing and continuous improvement. The Role Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will provide technical leadership within the design function and be responsible for developing robust, cost-effective and manufacturable mechanical solutions. Your responsibilities will include: Developing detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings. Taking designs from concept through to manufacture. Carrying out engineering calculations, tolerancing and design validation. Using FEA and simulation where appropriate. Selecting materials and appropriate manufacturing processes. Working closely with manufacturing, quality, procurement and suppliers. Investigating technical issues and developing effective solutions. Improving product performance, reliability, weight and cost.
