We are now looking to recruit a Maintenance & Facilities Planning & Scheduling Engineer to join our team. This is a Day Shift Role.
The Role
You will be responsible for all aspects of planning and scheduling planned maintenance and facilities activities. This includes developing job plans, managing materials and quotations, raising purchase requisitions, kitting, and scheduling work to maximise the efficiency of the Maintenance & Facilities team. You will also play a key role in facilitating and supporting asset maintenance strategies, continuous improvement, and best‑practice maintenance planning. This role would suit an organised, proactive engineer with broad hands‑on maintenance experience and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are adhered to at all times
- Ensure all Quality policies, procedures, and standards are followed
- Manage work order requests, ensuring accuracy of job type, priority, and descriptions
- Plan work orders, including materials, resources, equipment, and methods
- Kit work orders so all materials and equipment are prepared in advance
- Schedule work to maximise equipment availability and align all stakeholders
- Utilise and improve CMMS functionality to enhance engineer efficiency
- Facilitate and support root cause analysis and asset strategy reviews
- Support the development and optimisation of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) strategies
- Train and coach others in maintenance best practice
- Apply 5S methodology
- Align with departmental and site objectives
- Support ad‑hoc projects and reactive maintenance teams as required
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Time‑served apprentice in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum Level 3 engineering qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience planning electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic maintenance activities
- Experience developing or improving PPM strategies
- High attention to detail with a right‑first‑time approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non‑technical stakeholders
- 5S experience
Desirable
- Dual‑skilled (mechanical and electrical) qualification
- Experience in a reliability engineering role
- Experience using and improving CMMS systems
- HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
- Experience in the castings sector or Tier 1 automotive supply
- Health & Safety accreditation
- Experience with die casting machines, furnaces, hydraulic presses, conveyors, assembly cells, ABB robots, Siemens PCs, CNCs, etc.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noise. Full Health & Safety training and PPE are provided.
