We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. The successful candidate will work alongside a mechanical engineer in a team of two, undertaking nationwide installation, commissioning, and servicing of equipment. This role requires a professional who is proficient in C&G Level 3 inspection and testing of electrical installations and is electrically qualified to 17th or 18th Edition (BS7671) as a minimum.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a mechanical engineer to perform nationwide installation, commissioning, and servicing of electrical equipment
- Conduct initial and periodic inspections and testing of electrical installations in accordance with C&G Level 3 standards
- Ensure compliance with BS7671 (17th or 18th Edition) regulations in all electrical work
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults in various systems and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications to guide installation and maintenance activities
- Prepare detailed reports on completed work, including test results and recommendations for improvements
- Maintain accurate records of all installations, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members as needed
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer
- C&G Level 3 qualification in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
- Electrical qualification to 17th or 18th Edition (BS7671) as a minimum
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel nationwide
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when required
Travel Requirements
This position requires extensive travel throughout the country. Candidates must be prepared to work nationally and able to stay away from home when required. All travel expenses, including accommodation and meals, will be covered by the company.
