About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality care to individuals accessing our service.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, you will help deliver healthcare interventions, promote physical wellbeing, and provide practical support to people affected by substance misuse and associated health needs.

This is a varied role involving direct patient care, health assessments, harm reduction interventions, outreach work, and supporting service users throughout their treatment and recovery journey.

  • Key Duties
  • Support clinicians in delivering healthcare assessments and interventions.
  • Carry out delegated clinical procedures following appropriate training and competency assessment.
  • Support service users with their physical health needs and overall wellbeing.
  • Deliver harm reduction advice, including overdose prevention and health promotion.
  • Assist with alcohol assessments and community detoxification programmes.
  • Undertake health monitoring activities and record outcomes accurately.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely clinical records.
  • Ensure clinical environments are safe, clean, and compliant with infection control standards.
  • Provide information, advice, and signposting to appropriate health and community services.
  • Participate in service improvement activities, audits, and ongoing professional development.

About You

You will be a caring and professional individual with a genuine passion for helping people improve their health and wellbeing.

You will have

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • Experience working in a health, care, or support environment.
  • An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and professional boundaries.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A non-judgemental approach when working with vulnerable people.
  • An awareness of the challenges faced by individuals affected by drug and alcohol use, mental health, or social exclusion.
