The volunteer works as part of the Health & Wellbeing Hub and supports people facing mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse challenges.
About Waythrough: Waythrough provides specialist support across mental health, alcohol, drugs and related areas. The service supports around 125,000 people each year through over 250 services, staffed by 3,500 people and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Attend the service frequently to engage with staff and people the service supports.
- Attend group sessions every Monday when the health and wellbeing activity session takes place followed by the social group in the afternoon.
- Session times: 10.30 AM – 1.00 PM and 1.00 PM – 3.00 PM.
- Be a friendly face, welcoming those who attend the service.
- Offer a listening ear and facilitate discussions that bring people together.
- Set up for group sessions, help keep communal areas tidy (e.g., kitchen and ground floor space), and pack away following each session.
- Promote and signpost activities available in the wider community.
- Identify and report any concerns or risks to the Manager within the building.

- Able to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to instruction.
