About the Role
As a Recovery Practitioner you will support individuals affected by alcohol and substance misuse by providing advice, assessments, and structured interventions. You’ll work one‑to‑one, deliver group programmes, and develop personalised care plans that support recovery and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out screening, assessments, and brief interventions for individuals, families, or couples.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans to support recovery goals.
- Deliver structured one‑to‑one support and facilitate group programmes.
- Provide guidance and support to individuals affected by someone else’s substance use.
- Maintain accurate case records and monitor outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to ensure integrated support.
- Promote the service through partnership working, events, and community engagement.
- Support and oversee volunteers or peer mentors where required.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and confidentiality standards are always followed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant qualification in health, social care, counselling, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting individuals in health, social care, or substance misuse services.
- Knowledge of substance misuse, recovery approaches, and client‑centred support.
- Strong record‑keeping and IT skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
- Confidence engaging with a wide range of individuals and building trusting relationships.
