Location: 128 Botcherby Avenue, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA1 2TX. This role is based within the community; therefore, applicants must hold a driving licence and have an own vehicle.

Salary: £25,877.80 – £30,868.31 (full earning potential, starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band).

About the role

Melbourne View is a 24‑hour supported housing service. The remit is to provide mental health support to 12 residents in their own self‑contained flats. As a 24‑hour service, you will be expected to work a mix of early‑morning, late, overnight sleep shifts, weekends and public holidays. Overtime is available.

What you’ll do

  • Manage and improve the physical and mental well‑being of residents.
  • Develop life‑skills including budgeting, money management, tenancy sustainment, access to public services, further education and/or employment, and living well in the community.
  • Help residents live more fulfilling lives and develop new meanings and purposes.
  • Enable residents to take control over their lives through their own choices and decisions.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to respond compassionately to sensitive and complex issues.
  • Ability to motivate, support and advocate for people using services.
